Personal Statement

Kristen was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. She received her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Elon University in North Carolina and obtained her Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University in 2006. Kristen is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Missouri, and Illinois.

Kristen has over 9 years of oil and gas experience. She primarily renders title opinions for an array of clients located in Louisiana and Texas. Kristen has also represented operators in oil and gas litigation, including disputes over mineral rights and maintenance of mineral leases.

Kristen handles a myriad of corporate matters including creating residential subdivisions, forming corporate entities, drafting corporate resolutions and dissolving corporate entities.

Kristen has also represented private and public companies in numerous labor and employment matters, including discrimination claims under Title VII, the American with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act. She has litigated employment discrimination claims in State and Federal Courts and has investigated and responded on behalf of management to employee claims before administrative agencies. In addition, she has advised clients on employment-related matters such as employment contracts and daily human resources issues.

Kristen is a member of the Shreveport Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, and the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen.
